Caleb's Hard Work

Caleb loves dirt bikes so much he spends a lot of time decorating his bike to look like a dirt bike.
He has up graded from paper to cardboard!
(much stiffer you know!)

Caleb loves to dress the part himself, so the knight armor is to be dirt-biker's gear!

He even created a "jump" for himself. There's a log on the sidewalk that they are riding over.

Caleb actually gets a pretty good jump!

Jacob has always liked things Caleb does, but he is still my cautious child!

Here's his jump.
He's such a good brother to Caleb, even though Jacob's heart isn't in it as much as Caleb's he still plays along. It's the same with dinosaurs, cars, and super hero's.
I'm still not sure what Jacob's favorite things are because he's always so content to just follow along with Caleb's ideas.
Jacob is my project this year, to really discover what his favorite thing is!
Or help him discover it!

Until then, here is Caleb doing his favorite thing!
Caleb has decided he loves Dirt bikes so much he is going to save up his money to buy a dirt bike for himself!

Every weekend since we've moved in (July, August and September) Jared has put the boys to work so they can earn up their money! Jacob is in it too, but once again not as devoted as Caleb.

They work hard too! They pull weeds, gather branches from Jared trimming all the trees, and bushes, and here...

They are hauling a tree across the yard!!

Jared didn't like this tree so he chopped it down, and had the boys help him clean it up!

Since Jared was holding the baby, I decided to help the kids.

Somehow Abby and I got tangled up in the rope...

We figured it out!

And put the tree in a pile of branches form another days work.

On another day, they boys helped Jared load all the branches into the truck and haul it off to the dump!

Caleb will even mow the lawn, or use the blower to blow grass away!

He is one determined little boy!

And his hard work paid off!
(It took them a long time to convince me!)

Jacob earned it too, but he doesn't ride it as much.
It's hard for him to shift into 2nd gear.

But he still does good on it!

The boys haven't earned up all the money that we agreed upon, so in order for them to get to ride the bike on the weekend, they have to do work during the week to earn the ride.
